Originally from Southern California, Ashley began her musical journey in elementary school with music theory and violin, eventually also picking up flute and bassoon. Throughout high school she performed in concert band, symphonic band, wind ensemble, marching band, orchestra, and even studied guitar, building a broad and versatile musical background. Her experiences led to memorable opportunities including marching in the 2010 Rose Parade, performing aboard the USS Midway, appearances at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, competing in Hawaii, playing for college football games and bowl games, and touring and performing in over seven European countries.
Ashley continued her musical involvement in college at the University of Utah, performing with the marching band, symphonic band, and pep band, where she played piccolo and bassoon, and also took on trumpet and baritone, all while earning a degree in Family and Human Studies. Professionally, she has worked in education as a teacher, guest teacher, and special education paraprofessional. She also is a founding member of a charter school.
A co-founder of the Tooele Valley Wind Ensemble, Ashley has served as secretary since its inception and continues to support the organization wherever needed, currently performing on trumpet. She also plays bassoon with the Tooele County Symphony Orchestra and remains passionate about building community through music.
