Robert (Bob) Mosso is the Principal Euphonium of the Tooele Valley Wind Ensemble, which he co-founded in June 2021 alongside local music educators. As President and (previously) Treasurer, he played a pivotal role in incorporating the ensemble as a Utah nonprofit, securing initial funding and banking, and obtaining its IRS 501(c)(3) status. A seasoned euphoniumist with over decades of experience, Bob has performed with distinguished groups including the Salt Lake Symphonic Winds (under Dr. Thomas Rohrer), Ogden Wind Ensemble (formerly Ogden Concert Band, under Dr. Shannon Roberts), Tooele County Symphony Orchestra, Golden West College Concert Wind Band (Principal Euphonium, Fall 2011–Spring 2021), Placentia Symphonic Band (house band for the Richard Nixon Presidential Library), Golden State British Brass Band (at Disney events, churches, and the 2017 Episcopal Bishop ordination at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion), Fullerton Community College Concert Band, Salvation Army Marching Band (Rose Parade 2009), Cal Poly Pomona Concert Band, and UMass Lowell Concert Band. He also enjoys performing on trombone, tuba and trumpet for Tooele's Messiah and Lamb of God productions, while expanding his skills on brass instruments.
Now a retired engineer and entrepreneur based in Tooele, Bob brings the same precision and dedication from his professional career to his lifelong passion for music, honed since his high school days at Lunenburg High School playing trumpet and euphonium in concert and marching bands. His extensive background in community, college, and brass bands—often alongside music educators, amateurs, and professionals—enriches TVWE's performances with technical expertise and ensemble spirit.
